California detainee housing order, Dec 2024 Copy link

An order for what the record calls “housing for detainees”, for the year from December 2024, under the same contract as GEO's Mesa Verde and Golden State facilities in California, under a 2019 contract (70CDCR20D00000008); recorded as competed. USAspending shows $61,491,466 obligated.

Awarded to GEO Group by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement

Tie Zoley founded GEO Group, the private-prison company, and became its chairman and CEO again in March 2026 after five years as executive chairman. A GEO subsidiary, GEO Reentry Services, gave MAGA Inc., Trump's super PAC, $1 million each in October 2025, March, April and July 2026, $413,000 at the end of July 2026 and another $1 million on September 1, 2026, and the company's PAC gave $500,000 to Trump's inaugural committee in December 2024, FEC filings show.

GEO has held the underlying contract since 2019; this order continues that business, and orders like it were also placed under earlier administrations.
