Licensing fee for the Amazon film “Melania” Copy link

The 2025 financial disclosure shows a $10.71 million licensing fee for the documentary Melania, released by Amazon MGM Studios in January 2026.

Amazon reportedly paid $40 million for the film rights, about $26 million more than the next bidder; the Wall Street Journal and The Guardian reported she would personally receive about $28 million. The disclosure shows $10.71 million received in 2025; how that relates to the larger figures has not been explained. The $40 million reportedly also covered a companion docuseries; the two-part docuseries she announced in September 2026 has no separately reported payment.
