Army Next Generation Command and Control fielding, starting with I Corps Copy link
The Army awarded Anduril a five-year contract to field the common data layer of its Next Generation Command and Control (NGC2) system, built on Anduril's Lattice software, beginning with I Corps in the Pacific. Anduril announced a $162.8 million base period with options worth up to $1.8 billion. The award number and contract type have not been published, and the award does not yet appear on USAspending, so the amount obligated is not public.
Awarded to Anduril by U.S. Army
Tie Luckey founded Anduril with Trae Stephens, its executive chairman. He gave $200,000 to the Trump 47 Committee, a Trump joint fundraising committee, in June 2024, FEC filings show, and Fortune put his donations to Trump's 2024 campaign at $400,000. Trump's team consulted Stephens on reshaping the military after the election, Bloomberg reported.
Military Times reports the Army signed the award on Sept. 30, 2026; Anduril announced it Oct. 5. It follows the July 2025 NGC2 prototype agreement. On Sept. 30, 2026, days before this award was announced, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth named Luckey, with Elon Musk and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, to lead Project Meridian, a 120-day Pentagon study of the weapons and capabilities the U.S. may need in future wars. NPR reported that the Pentagon did not say whether they were hired as special government employees or contractors.
