Justice Department settlement of his wrongful-prosecution suit Copy link
The Justice Department agreed to pay Michael Flynn $1.25 million to settle his 2023 lawsuit claiming he was maliciously prosecuted for lying to the FBI, the New York Times reported; Lawfare later obtained the March 2026 settlement agreement. Flynn had twice pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI before Trump pardoned him in 2020. He had sought $50 million.
Paid by U.S. Justice Department
The settlement leaves out a separate Court of Federal Claims suit over his garnished military retirement pay.
